Is my rev counter reading too high

Hi All,

I'm just checking what readings other 4.4 M62 ZF 5sp owners are getting from their rev counters at particular speeds as I'm not sure if mine is reading too high or not? On the rev counter itself when I'm doing approx 67mph it reads 2200rpm but my diagnostic tool is telling me its doing 3000rpm.

Is there an easy way to check or is either the rev counter wrong or the signal from the engine as they clearly don't match?

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind Regards

John

Hi Smutt,

Many thanks for the feedback. I'm just wondering if there is a software problem in that case giving two different figures. Thanks again, its very helpful.

regards

John
