I hope 'a couple of other issues' is an understatement |

I didnt think so, passenger door wouldnt open and they have said it was 2 cables and a latch, the main issue seems to have been the brakes, which apparently were 'bodged' in the past. Now I have had the bloody thing for 9 years so know exactly where it has been. Will be interesting to see tomorrow what has been done and where the issues are/were, I am not saying it is over the top but it must have been in a bad way, parts alone were £3200 allegedly |

That's absolutely crazy - surely the car isn't worth much more than that - presume he talked you though everything before he started spending your money for you ?

Thanks chaps, I agree it is a large number and more than the bloody thing is worth probably but hey ho, it may be all good and I get back some trouble free motoring for a bit. I look at it in this way, 1. It obviously needed it, 2. I couldnt have sold it in that condition morally, 3. It will now be good for a while, bad points: 1. I really will have a man math problem now, and 2. WTF |

Ouch, did you go to the same garage as Joker used that made him bend over and touch his toes? |

Good Lord That's a lorra wedge for sure. I thought mine was bad at £3600 for a replacement touch screen (warranty thankfully) but how it comes to over 3 clap for some brakes (even with 4 new callipers, discs, Pads, servo and even all the handbrake gubbins)) and some odd door bits is nuts. These things sure do have a way of turning a drama into a crisis. |

That must be a record for getting an MOT. |

I can only sympathise. My old 2002 had way more than its' value spunked on her over my tenure, honestly would be cheaper with a fooking mistress, at least you'd get a happy ending! |

Well picked the old girl up today and I must say what an unusual experience, they took me into the workshop (clean as a whistle and full of LRs) to show me a bench full of scrap! The bits that had come off mine, boxes of the things, even a non mechanical person like me could appreciate, than a complete guided tour of the car to show what had been done in minutiae.
