Found a TDV8 , but concerned about the past

I found a 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in the exact colour combo I would like with RSE and all the other bits. A few things slightly concern me though

1. It has 119,000 miles on it. I do about 25,000 miles a year , is there anything that will need replacing shortly or is there anything expensive awaiting me in the next year or 2. Also is there a point that it hits that I'm going to lose any chance of selling it ?

2. Whats the service interval on one of these ? its been serviced every year (twice some years) but the intervals are 18,000km ish apart in some cases , is it really this long for a service ?

3. Its had work done in the past - receipts for a lot of bits, a good sign normally but this car has had jumpy gearbox issues and the fluids been changes twice already , it had an injector failure and its had induction hose leaks , luckily the owner had it towed to the garage every time and didn't just keep trying to drive it. but is it a case of "some of them run forever, some of them will keep giving problems"

4. Owners - first owner only had it for 9 months, after that the second kept it for 4 years so I doubt its a shed but thats still a little concerning

5. Is there any aftermarket warranty that will take on a car with this mileage and still cover the expensive bits (Im mostly worried about the turbos, injectors and gearbox, I would gladly pay to warranty these for the next 2 years.

asking €29,000 (£21,000)
but what has to be factored there is the VRT we have which would be about €4000 if I wanted to import one so your talking about £17000 when you factor in VRT, the ferry to get it.

Most warranty companies are only happy to cover up to 100,000 miles fella.

Hi. I'm in Dublin and just bought a 2007 ( October ) Vogue SE for 26k euro I looked at loads of them and it's hard to find a good one. I found a 2008 vogue with 129k for 27 euro which was Lovely and drove a treat and then a 2007 HSE with only 69k for 25k euro that smoked under hard acceleration Re the warranty , I got a Mapfire warranty for a year Cost about 400
Euro. I got the dealer to service gearbox , just to cover me in case it goes wrong I'll have the gearbox company's report that all was ok when I bought it

Had mine just over a week and love I've had a few jeeps with a 4 litre petrol Cherokee being the best off road. I took the RR to a place called the Curragh on Sat and went off road over a few serious hills Really impressed It handled wet grass slopes without a bother and myselfMans the kids were grinning like fools !!!

Had lots of cars in the last 32 years and the RR is the best so far 2015 4.4 AB

hah if its black with cream interior and 20" aftermarket wheels I think I pleaded with a dealer to ignore your deposit on that and take my cash Laughing

Yeah they're a super vehicle and Im really struggling to find a nice one, especially in Ireland. Even autotrader is running out of good VSE's Sad

just to ask what company had a look at the gearbox ? if I could get that checked out by somebody it would reassure me a lot more.

That sounds like my one. He said he had two offers and he seemed genuine. The gearbox lad in Pat on the Greenville road I can't think of his second name. But it's the name of the company Ill look at paperwork tomorrow. He servicedmy merc box a few times and is big into bikes . Same dealer has a wine 2007 vogue in and a HSE in silver with 9k of 2010 autobiography upgrades but no sunroof !!!!!!

I have a 2010 d-max at the moment for work , I need a commercial for business , Wanted a FFRR for a long time and its only now that you can crew cab them that its become a reality , so luckily Ill have 333 off the bat (the free loading bay parking is the biggest saving for me). Im living in leixlip so were both at the same tax office. Luckily Naas don't ask for PPS numbers or any other craic for the crew cab declaration so even if your not using it for business you'll be fine.

I have a VAT registered transport business based in Lucan area so I'm ok re use. Weight is the only issue re RR for N1 registration but some weigh bridges are ok !!!! I hadn't thought of the loading bay bonus. Be hand for popping into the bank in Tallaght village My merc was looked after by a friend of mine who specialises in BMWs. He's just started his own business and is going to be looking after my RR He going to be based in Lucan , on the Newcastle
Road by GOODWINS He's really good and reasonable prices I plan on having my serviced quite often as I live in kildare and travel up everyday 2015 4.4 AB

29k EUR for a 2008 sounds kind of expensive. You must have high taxes there. These cars are cheaper here in eastern europe.
