Maybe insider knowledge

Was speaking to guys who work on the Range Rover development team and they let slip that they are testing a complete replacement for the touch screen entertainment system on the L405, they are looking at doing away with the 'hard' buttons at the side of the current touch screen and making it all one big screen complete with Ipad style swipe/scrolling and introducing the ability to swipe what you see on the entertainment touch screen over to the digital instrument cluster the example they gave me was the ability to move the gps navigation from the touch screen to the cluster and all the dials Etc move to the bottom of the screen and turn in to just digital readouts making it easier and safer to use, they are also testing ghost car technology where the heads up display projects a 'ghost' image of the car in front of you and basically you just have to follow it for directions. Sounds like interesting stuff!

If I hear anymore details I will update you.

We know it's coming we just want to know when, that's the secret answer we need.

I started making mock-ups as soon as the 10.2" screen was shown on the new Jaguars. The XJ refresh brought InControl Touch Pro to its 8" screen. While the new XF & F-Pace have the 10.2" system as option. But it won't be available on the XF until mid-model year.

I've been wondering when car/lorry designers are going to replace the door/wing mirrors, with mini external cameras, and show the image, (reversed) on the inside A pillar, in sort of upstanding widescreen. great for lorries, no mirrors to fold in to pass buses. parhaps better for cars to. less noise, less damage,

no spiders..

in the current climate for better safety and cyclists will ing lay down under wheels etc, it can only be for the better...
