Spellchecker

I have a pet hate - and thats bad spelling Embarassed , I can spell fairly well, but when typing quickly errors inevitably creep in, some Forums have a spell checker to quickly correct any errors, alas not FFRR or am I missing something?

Does anybody use an on line spell checker or is there a quicker way than reading right through your posts and editing??

I use: http://www.iespell.com/

It integrates nicely, and you can choose between US and UK spelling, some of the solutions out there think there is only one version of English!

If you use Firefox as your browser they have a good one for free too, it doesn't autocorrect but does highlight where you have made a mis-spell, which is much better imho than apple's system on both the iPhone and iPad - my Mac came with one built in and it is showing imho as a mis-spell........... 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I'm on a crash course to learn Liberian for my next ship Angel.......................... but I've been told not to let my German licence to lapse in case the German replacement for me suffers the same misfortunes as the last one and I have to go back! The last one had 3 very unlucky days in February, first the ship ran aground in the River Scheldt going from Zeebrugge to Antwerp, then he got a 7000 Euro fine from Belgium Customs the next day and a day later the company decided to end his run of bad luck........................... and dismissed him. So having been told a week before that I wasn't going back to the ship I was hastily booked onto a flight to go back and take over again, which was why I was away for 4 months instead of the usual two - the company couldn't recruit a German captain to take over from me. 8000 Euros a month salary before tax and Social Security deductions was beneath most of them! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Darrenmax,
Yes, I work for Maersk Line but am subcontracted to a german company called Reederei Blue Star (http://www.reedereibluestar.de ) who manage a fleet of 32 containerships mostly on long term charter to Maersk. I have been on the bigger ships for the last 3 years but now it's my turn to go back to older and smaller ships, which I am looking forward to as they have much nicer accommodation and fittings. The ship I am going to was one of the most expensive and advanced ships in the world when it was built - there still haven't been any containerships built that cost as much to build and few have the tech stuff either as these days shipowners are loathe to spend the dosh on futuristic ships and take the shipbuilders cheapest standard design instead. I had to sign the mortgage receipts for the Maersk Seville when she was delivered - investors stumped up $190 million for one ship and the company purchased 9 of them through investors........... makes a FFRR look cheap!

was on this one,Maersk Sydney, for the last year and a half

and this one, Maersk Seville, for 2 years before that
http://www.vesseltracker.com/en/Gallery/Ve...html?dir=1

and I am going to this one, supposed to be for 2-3 years 2-3 months on and 2-3 months off

She's a bit elderly at 16 years old and has just returned to service after suffering a very severe engineroom fire that meant nearly 9 months in repairs. However, compared to the new ships she will have much nice accommodation and fittings and has a fully enclosed bridge which will be nice in December and January up in the Yellow Sea when we call at Xingang and Quindao - open neck shirts instead of getting dressed up like an eskimo to go outside to drive when berthing and sailing like on the more modern ships. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
