Jaguar F-Pace

Jaguar finally unveiled the F-Pace today. I must say, I rather like it, and quite competitively priced too.

It took me ages to find the towing limit, though - 2400kg, so that knackers me!

Have they slapped some Ftype lights on the rear to save cash and then just gone into their cad package and stretched out an XF sportbreak thingy and then stuck longer dampers and coils on it??

Where is the petrol V6 turbo engine or a nice V8 for it?

Also why are the pictures on the .co.uk site LHD models? surely thats lazy as hell IMO FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Being a classic jaguar fan, I'm not impressed with modern jaguar styling. But the grill on these new era models just looks so wrong. It's upright and poorly shaped. And that blue colour, is horrid! Why didn't they launch in a neutral colour....
I'm just never going to like it anyway...can't think what the old master Sir William Lions would be thinking. Diesel estate 4x4 blue, can't see the 'grace, space, pace' moniker being ever re-used

Blue? Bluuuraaah!

However, I bet they don't go rusty! And are built by a workforce who are not at the mercy of trade unions.

Is that why the F Pace lights are a Two-Piece set rather than the F-Types One-Piece ... Wink

France 2007 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

Being a long time Jaguar driver, classics and modern, I really, really can't see what could attract me in the new models. (OK the f type is not bad) but this bus is so not special, not full of character and not inspired by the lovely lines Jaguar once had. Indeed Stan, they all look alike and it would be better if they put all those industries together and just make one 4x4.
This market is totally going crazy.

Remove those rear lights and, sadly, the rest of it could be from any other manufacturer. Si. <This is my name.

Ah, the Jaguar Evoque Q5 XC90 model.

No grace, lousy lines, and a damn log burner. What have Jaguar done with their styling? Where's the usual panache?

Sort the grille, stick a proper engine in it (the 3L charger from F Type is very good) and put back some of the Jaguar lines. I've had many Jaguars over the years, XJR's, Sovereigns, XKR's and even an S Type although I hated the grille on that too, but this really doesn't follow any of their design traditions, or indeed play to their strengths.

In fact, I've said before that if Jaguar made a Range Rover competitor I would buy one. This isn't it. But I'll bet they sell loads though which, lets face it, is what it's all about these days. Jaguar are no longer a niche manufacturer with 2 models, they moved into mass market with X Type so it's going to be the shape of things to come I imagine.

United Kingdom 2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Indus Silver

It will be available with a 3L Supercharged Engine - starting price without extras £51,450 Shocked

I quite like the launch blue but ironically the colour is not an option on the "build your own" configurator Laughing

For fun I took the SC variant and loaded it with essential options, many standard on other brands, and gave up at £65K Shocked Shocked

Entry level 2L diesel for mid 30's will appeal .............. probably to the "Mid 30's" Rolling Eyes
