Time for a new battery?

Hi All,

I've been reading the various threads on here about battery drain and trying to decide if it's time for me to replace mine. I bought a Ctek charger as recommended on here, and when I charge the car up fully overnight it displays the fully charged light (at number 7).

When I come back to the car the following day (whether I've been driving it or not) it's down to less than half a charge (light 3 or 4). It then remains constant at this point, and doesn't appear to drain any further, and causes no issues to the operation of the car.

My local LR indy have confirmed that there is no unusual battery drain.

I think the battery was only replaced a couple of years ago by the previous owner (who was on this forum!) - is it unusual to have to replace the battery so soon? Does this sound like it's the action required?

Thanks,

I'd check the actual voltages without the ctek are within acceptable range.

Also depends on the battery. Most who replace them go for the bigger S5 110AH jobby which only just fits into the space but in theory should last a long longer as it isn't as stressed with cold starts and also not as badly when the par heat/cool feature is used. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Batteries can fail prematurely, it's why they come with warranties. If you still have the original purchase receipt for the battery (the last owner may have passed it on), then you can take it back to the retailer or in theory anyone who sells that make of battery and exchange it.

They'll obviously load test the battery first to confirm it's weak.
