Well the samples arrived today from Martrim the guys I use, they are all way to dark but listed I think as a generic range rover headliner colour mine is much liter, more cream than there creme sample.

The other option arrived today as well, have emailed martrim to see if they have other colour options if not it will be my back up colour.

Have sent for more samples......lots more

X3 more samples arrived today time to make a decision shortly. Also going to be testing different spray glues iv always used the stuff supplied from martrim but its instant fix no time to reposition if needed.

Time for a bit of r and d

So the 1st lot of samples are here time to share

The new type spray glue arrive so iv stuck the samples down on to some fabric. Its reposionable so iv lifted it after a few minutes and put it back down again. Gonna see how strong it is in the morning.
The spray glue didn't bleed into any of my fabric samples it's a mist type spray and I did over apply it just to test the fabrics.

To update on this 3m 75 glue......its no good 20 hours later and I pulled it straight off

So then, what glue should be used please? I have a small area on another car I need to fix 👍

I have a few more glues on the way so will report back. I found some old new headliner in the garage from my p38 when I redid the headliner in that so lots to use in my r and d.

What glue did you use on your headliner 3 or 4yrs ago? That glue obviously worked well? Or do you think it could be improved?

Martrim supply there own spray glue, basically it's just a standard spray glue rebranded with there own logo and directions. Iv redone a couple of p38s will look for some pics and post up. Results were great the liner is still up as iv still got the car. I redid the wifes old D2 as well while I had the liner down fixing the usual sunroof leaks and seized motors.

I will be trying pva this afternoon my work van has wooden panels so will stick some headliner to that and see how that goes. Endless repositioning with pva

Sorry there hasn't been an update on this yet still a work in progress. Iv tried several glues on some spare headliner material I had left over from my p38 refurb. So far the pva is the easiest to use, its holding up ok and of course isnt instant grab so lots of chances to reposition the liner material.

I'm currently working my way round a poss gearbox issue . Its holding 1st to long and slipping in 1st every now and again previous owner had a full flush and oil and filter change at some point with a new oil cooler gotta find the paper work and check the milage. I'm thinking with the lack of use during lockdown......I'm sure it didn't do it before I most likley have a block radiator.

Gonna check my oil levels and swop out the rad and see what happens....headlining shortly.
