Had my front pads and discs changed last Saturday and afterwards the suspension was stuck in normal height with suspension fault on the dash every time the car started. Alternator gave up and was replaced. I drove it today and suspension in access height and suspension fault on dash. The switch for altering the heights does nothing and does not light up with a selected height level. LR said I needed a new battery but would have thought this would not not make suspension work.

You might need to reset the EAS with a tool like the IID, but have you tried going from full lock to full lock on the steering x 2, with the engine on, cos I can't remember which way your supposed to turn first

If all the lights are out it is a hard fault, even if you fix the fault it won't come back until cleared with a diagnostic tool.

They said my battery was not great and charged it and said may need a new one in the future. I would have thought that I would get transmission fault for s low battery first. Could it be the valve on the compressor?

The compressor hasn't really got a valve...

Stan the early ones don't seem to get blocked, they are just a wide space wire mesh, nothing like as solid as the later ones... and it still won't fix his hard fault, needs a dose of diagnostic tool.... Pete

Dealer think the compressor has burnt out but not 100% sure. They have ordered one for today and will fit and test it to see what happens. I did mention the valve on the compressor but they think mine may have burnt itself out so needs replacing.

I'd get them to check all the air bags on the suspension, my pump self destructed trying to keep up with an air leak in the front strut, the car was around the 100k mark at the time. if yours is near that mileage then you may have a hole in spring Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... I found the only easy way was to put it in off road mode, as the air bags are folded over themselves in normal. When I put mine in high and turned off the engine, it sounded like I had a pit of vipers under the front arches Hissing Sid eat your heart out Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
