Yes, I would think they get auctioned, just like any other cars, but probably not in the same auction. They may be pricey, but so is the servicing. A used dealer may not want an expensive car that requires a lot of very pricey repairs, and will then sit for a while waiting for a customer. Also, high end cars would probably end up with a specialist dealer, not the average used car lot. |

Literally everything and anything including classic cars, supercars, 4x4s go through auctions, usually specialist ones but from time to time BCA and Manheim too:-

Thanks for the links and helpful replies. I've looked on bca but not delved deep enough. Just out of curiosity really - wondered what for example a Ferrari 360 / 430 would fetch at auction opposed to the forecourt price. |

My son and I went along to a BCA auction recently and watched the usual old and tired cars sail through, followed by the newer stuff of German origin.
