I've been searching for a while and come up with no sensible answers as yet. I've got a 2007MY which has, had, a Nokia Bluetooth unit in the boot before water got the better of it. It also has the Nokia cradle in the arm-rest. Since I don't use the Bluetooth a huge amount I've simply bypassed the departed Bluetooth unit.

So the question is - is the Bluetooth unit required for the arm-rest cradle to work or does it interface directly to the head unit? I haven't been able to work it out from the workshop manual either.

The reason I'm interested is I have an idea about repurposing the connectors for a project. Ed

Thanks for confirming wiggs - I suspected as much because I'm guessing the head unit wouldn't bother with telephone interfaces but rely on the MOST transceivers in the bluetooth unit. Ed
