I did raise it with the dealer last month at point of sale but with some other issues they really couldn't care less.

Uphill struggle so far and now in the process of fighting to get the damaged they have done fixed.

That's why I think you need to go above their heads and email Land-Rover customer services with your concerns. They will hopefully put pressure on your local dealer to deal with your concerns. You can also go to another Land Rover dealer with a list of the faults for them to check out. If they confirm the faults and you point this out to JLR customer services, your supplying dealer won't really have a choice but to rectify it all.

Sometimes you just have to say “lives too short” its a cheap part from Dan & takes 2 mins to fit!

Part is the equivalent cost to a 30 miles trip let alone your wasted time!

That's a fair point, but if no one reports crap dealers they'll always be crap dealers - rather than ex-dealers. Sounds like the tailgate damper is only one item on a long list.

I agree with Craig Shocked Life is too short to argue over a £14 damper that has worn out, it's over a year old so it will be classed as ware and tare, and you'll end up paying for it, and they'll probably try and sting you with labour to fit it Sad It could end up a very costly exercise Shocked

Very easy to fit, you only need a small screwdriver to release the clip on the ball joint and then pull! Fitting is even easier, just push it on Very Happy

Just a thought, if you want to confirm as to whether it is working or not, drop the tailgate with it fitted a few times so that you get a feel for the way it's falling, then remove the damper and drop it again, the tailgate that is Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

My L322 had at least two of these during its time with me. The damper isn't really up to the job! All under warranty.
