Hi guys I wonder if you can settle my mind about fitting roof bars. I bought the car in June and was given the bars with it, but only fitted them today to transport the christmas tree home. There is 3 slots on each side of the roof but the bars will only fit the front two positions as the rear seems to be narrower. Should there be a third bar that I am missing or can these bars be adjusted?
The bars seem to be genuine LR ones with LR logo, rubber insert and 100Kg load limit.

no, you get a a pair of (sports) bars. (as a kit) you need to order a separate '3rd sports bar' which is narrower. you can sometimes find one bar on ebay, doesnt mattter which, and dismantle it, and cut a piece from one side, and reassemble. and you have a third bar. i did exactly this.

set an ebay search alarm for the part number. (from top of roofbar)

Thanks - That sounds like a good idea and will get onto e-bay and set that up. It does seem strange though that only 2 bars are supplied when 3 are needed to lift luggage away from the roof!

Chaps, I have a pair of sports bars but no bolts to fit them and the LR fitting kit is no longer available

to stop people trying to nick your bars, standard equip was, the the bolts are torx security type, ie they are 'pierced' you can find these for sale on ebay. They look like these and are stainless here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M8-A2-BUTTON-HEA...dNS8SfXZXQ you then take one to B+Q and find the torx driver to fit for another £5

I've just measured mine when removing them from the roof and they have a 30mm thread length, so not a bad guess.
