WBAC valuations.

Just had a p/ex quote for my 58 plate 4.2 SC VSE @ 50K miles at £16K

Ran it through WBAC and it came back at £20,635 - really?

Any thoughts gents?

you get that price via the web site but i suspect that it will be different when you produce your FF at one of their depots..

.........but if you get close to it then thats a good deal.. ... - .- -.

sold a couple cars to them. The best thing about it was convenience, they are quite near to my home. I suppose they are not bad overall , but they will nitpick and chisel seemingly ridiculous amounts off their offer for very minor imperfections , paint scuffs and tiny scratches etc.

I sold a 13 plate Mitsubishi Outlander to them not so long ago. It was a rare manual and a top spec car. They admitted that that makes very little difference to them.

I guess if you want the convenience and you have a high value car that will easily re-sell then its maybe OK

I strongly suspect that your dealer does not want your FF so has given you a silly price to hope you dispose of it elsewhere. WBAC do pride themselves on giving a better price than any dealer part ex price.

As Stan says, they will knock you down when you appear on the day but it's all very much up for negotiation so haggle hard! Also look at the WBAC competitor WWAC.

WBAC is owned by BCA Auctions
WWAC is owned by Manheim

Guess where the vehicles go to...........

Their profit (albeit internal bean counting) is the difference between what they pay you and what your car makes in the auction ring (less all the costs of HPI, valeting, transportation, auction fees etc. So in theory, the best price could be had by putting the vehicle into the auction direct. If you can be bothered with all that.

WBAC and WWAC offer a very easy and simple sales process. You do pay for that though. 2006 4.2 SC

I'm pretty sure my RR will be "as described".

It also has the deployable side steps that they won't know about and a 14 month LR warranty in place.

Those features should outweigh any chipping for a small scratch here and there

One thing that I have observed is that your car will be pretty much stripped before it gets to the auction.

So if it was me, I would be taking the mats, steps, nav disc, handbook etc. etc. and selling it on ebay, you will be surprised how much money it all makes! They won't give you any more money for leaving it there and if you don't, someone else will!

Good luck! Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

That's sounds a good chunk of cash for the car. I ran mine thru WBAC on Sunday £15,800 for a 58, 3.6 TDV8 VSE with 60K.

Can the LR warranty be transferred when you sell via trade? The Jaguar one can't, it's only transferable when you do a private sale.
