Wheel queries

Hello all, had my car now for a couple of weeks mainly for the wife to use, absolutely loving it. Need some advice hopefully someone can help, tried searching but can't find the answers. The car has 22's on it, tyre pressure? Secondly the blasted yellow tpms light is on, I have bought new sensors but I can't find anyone to fit them. Is it as easy as taking the tyres off fitting and putting the wheels back on or do they need to be programmed.
Thanks in advance for any advice

The TPMS sensors can be easily fitted by your tyre fitter. They should be self configuring so you don't need a LR dealer to programme them to your car using their computer etc. - The receivers for the TPMS sensors are fitted in each of the wheel arches (and the spare wheel well)

The nut that fixes the valve/TPMS sensor to the wheel should be nipped up to 8 nM maximum (according to manufacturer) - quite a difficult measurement to read, since majority of torque wrenches don't measure below 20 nM

Sorry - not sure about correct tyre pressures on 22" wheels, however I doubt the sensors detect what size wheel you are using - they would simply detect the actual pressure, so anything below 30bar would probably trigger the sensor warning light.

When a TPMS sensor is replaced, it is important to understand your vehicle. Every manufacturer has a different method to reprogram the vehicle.
Some vehicles simply reprogram themselves while you drive. Others require the user to perform an action, such as turning the key and pressing a pedal, or using the key-fob to trigger a re-learn mode.
Not all vehicles may be placed into a re-learn mode— some require an extra interface to the vehicles OBDII/CAN-BUS to speak with the vehicle ECU, BCM or other device. Vehicles with this interface require the user to return to the dealership for a tyre rotation....................

Read my edited post above...

...basically yes, the valve and the sensor are one piece - push the new valve through the hole from inside the wheel - the valve retaining nut fixes the valve to the wheel - on the outside of the wheel.

Regarding what MICK said - each of the new sensors come with a identification number which you should make a note of (which valve is fitted to which wheel) for future reference - However, the TPMS warning light on my car was simply reset after starting and driving the car 2 or 3 times.

Thumbs Up

Thanks for the advice, the orange light has at last gone, new sensors did the trick.
