I find if you ask to speak to the sales manager! Then explain to him, you are the most outrageously picky buyer Would he mind awfully describing the car with that in mind!

yep, whilst looking at the cars interior i saw what i thought was a handfree mic on the roof pillar, i wobbled it, and it came off in my hand. it had a small sort of paperclip spike, wedging it down the roor pillar to headlining trim. i replaced it thinking it was part of the car. we sat and talked etc. -putting down the problems of the car, and saying it was £2k dearer than another that only had 10k more miles on it. (90k) -then we went into the salesroom, and made up some story that we want to test drive it, and he said no, unless you make an offer on the car now...i found this change of mood on the dealer very odd, and we started to disagree on a lot of things etc. i decided to basically walk out and we left. and we were talking in the car driving home, and wondered how he sort of 'knew' we were not interested. but we were hungry for a test drive etc. i then had a moment, where i realised it was an FM transmitter i had found. as we had rang earlier asking to see that particular car. and we were driving for an hour to see it etc. there was no other explanation. you can buy these for about £10 on ebay. |

One persons "pristine" isn't anothers. I don't think I am too picky but have seen items (not just cars) that I have viewed as in "excellent condition" to be not much better than mediocre in my book.

Yeah, your rite, pristine has very different meanings to some people. Whilst discussing the general state of the FF, the salesman pointed out the car is seven years old sir and the odd mark should be expected, parked two cars away was my fully detailed, shimmering 12 year old X5, I gave him a look and then pointed out the age of my car, without a word he tured a waked away. I am very picky, especially when shelling out my hard earned. For me the best option is to see if seller will send detailed photos as said. Again thanks for the advise and tips. |
