annoying sound like Niagara falls behind the dash

I have just read a post on water behind the dash that appears not to have been solved. I have a Range Rover L322 TD6 2002 with the same issue and have read so much advice on how to solve the problem but no one has yet confirmed anything that has worked. I have a mechanic friend who is baffled and he knows a RR specialist who has never come across this on an L322. I have been over my RR with a fine tooth comb to make sure all the drain holes are clear if water gets in and pleased to say they are all clean and working fine and when the A/C has run for a while I get the healthy condensations drips from underneath the cars drain pipes as expected so no water backing up there.

I have tried to burp the coolant several times with the car raised as steep as possible in the front from hot from cold again no difference

I have no overheating problems or any water sounds on start up or when stationary with the engine revving and no water dripping into the floor wells..... I just have an annoying sound like Niagara falls running from side to side when I go round corners with the engine hot or cold and i find it hard to believe a small heater matrix with an air lock to be at fault.

There must be someone out there who has fixed this problem for good

i wonder if its not a water sound but maybe the air suspension making that noise...with the heavy body tilting side to side it might be pushing out air on cornering hence the 'sound'....just a thought..

btw ,welcome to the forum... Thumbs Up ... - .- -.

In a wierd way I'm glad i'm not the only one with this issue, so far been unable to fix it so far.

I've tried every way of bleeding the coolant system with no joy. I was really unsure of what was making the noise at first but now if I switch my ignition to on so that the fan starts up but without the engine starting then turn the heater dials both from hot to cold and keep doing it back and forth, i can hear the water trickle into the heater matrix - starting and stopping. So i'm pretty sure now it's the heater matrix/coolant system.

Ive been told possibly it's something to do with the auxilary heater pump or valves going into the heater matrix....I'll be checking these.

How long has yours been like this, did you have any work done before it started?

My god it's soooo annoying !!! L322 2002 4.4 V8 LPG
