Air con and front screen washer jets...

Learned friends, can you give me some advice please.....

Air Con: seems to take ages to get cold, does eventually get cold but not ice cold.
Does that's lune like a re-gas req'd or something more sinister?

Screen washers are very weak, barely wet the screen at all but the motor and connections are clearly working to some extent. Haven't seen the headlamps get squirted for a while either.
Are there two washer pump motors and might one have failed or should I be looking for a blockage somewhere?
(The washer bottle is full btw)

Aircon sounds like low gas...

Washers could be blocked, remove the rubber pipe from the nozzles and blow back through them... Pete

On the washer jets, is there a single pipe from the washer bottle to both jets because both are flowing the same dribble. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

A common problem with the front jets is the internal plastic non-return valve and spring in each becoming dislodged and effectively blocking the water flow.
You can either replace each nozzle with new or remove the existing, dismantle and remove the nrv and spring and throw them away and then reassemble the nozzles and refit. In theory the water should drain back because of no nrv's but mine have been in use for a couple of years with the innards removed without any problems.

You really need to measure the temp of the air at an outlet to see how effective the ac is, if you can't get down to about 4C probably a time for a regas.

My pipe for the screen washers had become dislodged and when you shut the bonnet it was trapping the pipe causing hardly any water to get through, could be the same problem you are having?

hi david, some on here would advise against it but i regassed my RR with a kit i bought off ebay, its made by STP and is also available from halfords. it cost £48 but there is a £10 refund when you return the empty cylinder. it was easy to do and took about 10 mins. there is enough gas in the cylinder to top up at least twice so it might be a while before i return the empty cylinder.
the washer problem is one i had and turned out to be a gunge build up in the non returned valve. i replaced these to from ebay for about £3.

yes pete i agree, but know i have the pipe work and gauge, the cylinders are only about £20 on there own and there is enough gas in them to regas 2 to 3 cars. with what i have left in the cylinder i can do mine again or my wifes mx5, i dont have the inconvenience of booking a appointment and waiting around, and above all i like to be independant. regards mark
