Parking sensors not doing anything.

I have just picked my a new (second hand) my10 tdv8 luxury vogue today and driven to work.
It's been for sale at the car yard for about a month.
The front and reverse park sensors don't light up or beep at all.
I can't manually push the park sensor button and activate them.
The reverse park camera is working fine though.
I believe they share the same fuse number 5 in the boot.
I've checked that and it's fine.
The only other symptom I have is the battery came up with a battery low warning on my dash when I was stopped and had the ignition on for 5 mins.
I'm going to try and charge the battery tonight and hope there's nothing regular draining the battery.
The nrma inspection on the car said the battery was fine but needed charging.
Is it playing up due to a low battery? Which I've read can create lots of electrical gremlins.
Does anyone know why the park sensors may not be working?
Also if I do need a knew battery what do people recommend? I'd rather buy a battery less often and spend more on quality and reliability.
I'd also prefer the largest storage battery.
Cheers

low voltage batterys do cause all kinds of weird things on the FF , from hdc problems to the nav screen not coming on...

certainly your first step would be to make sure your battery is fully charged.... ... - .- -.

I put the battery on charge for a few hours and it seemed to be fully charged.
Still no parking sensors at all.
Is it possible they're turned off in software?
I'm also getting weird gremlins like a suspension fault popped up for 10 seconds then disappeared.
Then at another time it said coolant level low then disappeared after 5-10 seconds.
Seems strange.
I don't know if it's a separate problem but the rear left heated seat isn't working either.
I hope these gremlins aren't permanent.

do a proper drop test on the battery...how old is it? anything over 3'ish years could be suspect and i think there's a tsb on battery drain on your model year.. ... - .- -.

I'm not sure how old the battery is but its branded Land Rover/Jaguar 90ah.
I had an inspection on the car and this was the results to a battery test.
What is a Tsb?
Sorry I'm very new to this forum.

Hi Blade,
May be different cause but worth checking your parking module, mine was parked at a dealers for a little while & I think it got damaged by condensation.
Had similar gremlins with sensors early on then it stopped altogether.
Link below was how I fixed mine.

Hope you get it sorted,
Rob.

Thanks RJH,
I'll check out the module in the back.
This is my battery which I'm not sure if it's 5 years old original or replaced at some stage.

that looks like it has been replaced, afaik, the 2010 cars came with a standard Lead acid battery, which was upgraded to the AGM type following the TSB (technical service bulletin). Yours has the AGM type so i would suggest that it has been replaced. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

With the engine running there should be enough charge to have full voltage on the system i.e. the parking sensors should work. The NRMA check should have shown bad charging issues so lets assume for now it is charging properly.

When one or more sensors don't work, there is a long beep when engaging them (pressing the button or putting the car in reverse), if everything is working there is a short beep. Considering that you have no beeps at all, it is likely to be the parking module that has gone funny by the sounds of things but still worth checking if there is voltage going to the module itself. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

It looks like the battery was replaced with recall q159 04/12/12 with battery management system.
So maybe it's just in need of some regular charging and driving etc.

As for the parking sensors I checked the parking sensor module and it turns out my module has moisture corrosion and is damaged.
Exactly at RJH mentioned in an earlier post.
Spot on the money with that link mate.

Great that it was of help in finding that, could well be condensation Its worth keeping an eye on it to be 100% tho.
Looks like you have some corrosion on the left hand plug in the 1st image, water could be tracking along the wiring & into the module. I put a few silica gel packs inbetween some of the wires plus some extras in a tub & checked each week with no more water found. Thumbs Up

Thanks RJH.
My thoughts are the same on the moisture tracking on that one cable loom.
I'm not sure what length the cables are as I'll have to have a look in the garage.
But I reckon if I can mount it upside down to what it is normally and there would be no tracking whatsoever as the cables would enter the bottom.
Also the cover would stop any water coming in from above.
