iPad iPlayer connectivity

Hi All,
I have just taken delivery of a 6 month old SDV8 Autobiography.
Can anyone help me as to how to connect an iPad so that I can play downloaded programmes from the BBC iPlayer app on the dual-view screen?
Many thanks in anticipation.
Tony

I don't think you can on mine - there's only a USB connection so you can download films in a particular (can't remember which) format onto a memory stick then play that.

Do you have rear screens ? If so, is there an aux input for those - you may be able to play something through that.

Why wouldn't you just watch the iPad ?

Point taken, thanks Alistair,
No rear screens but just wanted to make it a little easier for her indoors to watch location, location, escape to under the hammer on our forthcoming two week European driving marathon tour!
Thanks,
Tony

There are probably plenty of less than completely legit sites you can download them from in the right format - not my area of expertise - but someone on here must be able to help if you pose the right question .... Wink

The answer for me was a big USB stick which works just as well in either the rear or front USB inputs. You should be able to google the process for putting videos on, it is pretty straight forward. Not sure about iPlayer files though - I mainly use apple iTunes movies/tv programmes which are really easy to do (tip - don't try and load HD, only SD formats work).

As already suggested, the alternative for people with RSE is to use an apple composite video cable to connect to to the rear composite inputs - but you also need an iPad or iPod with a 30 pin connector as the lightning connectors aren't compatible even with an adaptor.

johnf - that's useful to know re the iTunes movies. All of mine are in HD, so I guess I have to work out how to transfer them to SD before working out how to save them to a USB stick. I'll have a go later.

Regarding the iplayer, that would be awesome if you could play them on the screen, but I've not figured it out yet. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

Edj - You will find that if you have bought an HD version you can download the SD one for free so no conversion necessary.
