iPods and FFRRs

I've moved my iPod (click wheel type...) from the 15 MY to the 17MY FFRR but it seems to have the odd funny five minutes. Are the old iPods too old to work with the later cars? Worked fine in the previous one. 17 MY Corris Grey 4.4 VAB

Mine used to be a bit temperamental too.

Eventually I subscribed to Apple Music and already had unlimited data on my phone, so now I just use the phone via bluetooth which works very well
