Recent history includes a rental car and a JLR Jag, both with keyless entry and keyless start. I see NO advantage over the regular system. Now, key remote to unlucky the car and get the windows down on a hot day, fantastic! |

I understand that keyless entry theft is possible on late L322 cars as well as the L405? |

I am sure that I read somewhere that the KVM ( key validation module) on the 2016 L405 is read only so it is not possible to create a key from the OBD port and that the major security weakness has therefore been addressed. |

Update on this. My 2016 model L405 is going in for its first service next week. Dealer just called to say that they need both keys as they are doing an upgrade to the keyless entry. It seems that the Key Validation Module on my MY2016 was not read only and needs to be replaced by one that is. ie so that it is not possible to create a key using the OBD port.
