18 inch rims on a 2010 5l sc

hi gents, i have a d3 and now thinking of getting a rrs, but the low profile tyres scare me, being here in africa we have lots of lousy roads huge pot holes and miles of sand roads , is there any way i could fit my d3 v8 rims or any 18 inch rim on one, i want a 60 profile tyre , to get more rubber between the rim and the sand. if 18 will not fit, what is the biggest 19 inch size i can fit .
parts and spares don't come as easy here as over there.so shopping around for tings is not so easy
thanks

In a word, no. There is one style of genuine 19" wheel which fits over the brake calipers (can't remember which style - sorry) but 18's definitely won't fit.

If you could get the 19's then your tyre options would be a 255/55/19 so it's not a desperately low profile. You could also go to a 255/60/19 without a lot of drama. It would also make your speedo a little more accurate based on the fact they all seem to over-read by about 4% on standard tyres.
