Pretty cool Thumbs Up Nice coffee table point of interest and an interesting use of the 3 jaw!!

Reminds me (rather tenuously) of a trade test one of my old charge hands had me do Shocked
Using a drill and a series of files create a 1" square hole in a 1" thick block of aluminium and then using a hacksaw and files create a 1" dia disc / cylinder from another 1" thick aluminium block.

They were all about the skilled use of hand tools but the bit everyone focused on, or the "TEST" if you like, was to drop the disc / cylinder into the square hole so there were no gaps Thumbs Up

I didn't really understand why he had me do it at the time as I was serving an apprenticeship as a spark but then I also didn't realise just how much he'd taught me Embarassed

Showed this to one of our toolmakers.

Suspect not much real work happening for the rest of the day.

Many thanks for sharing.

Seen several of these years ago at work when I was an apprentice , used to be a skill test for the apprentice turners , never seen a video of the process so quite impressive really
