United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Zermatt Silver
faded seat restorer

my seats are generally in good condition but there is a slight fading on the drivers seat due to previous owner exiting the vehicle without side steps fitted . when I say fading the grey leather coating has just started to wear showing the original leather colour under neath , very minimal but I want to catch it before it gets worse

ive tried a scratch doctor type of coloured balsam on a settee in the past and it was useless and all im seeing on ebay is similar products, can anyone recommend a product to help put the colour back into the faded area .

much appriciated Thumbs Up

England
Silk emulsion

Many years ago I took my Aston to Conollys at Wandel bank, Wimbledon to have the full treatment.
While I was there I got talking to one of the restoration chaps who talked me through the process.
He stressed the first and most important thing was to get the seats clean with soft soap and then a alcohol cleaner. once clean the Finnish can be applied. I asked what the Finnish was that they used. To my surprise he said "vinyl silk emulsion"
With a sealer.
I have used it many times on many vehicles and when combined with a good leather Finnish sealant can put a finish on the seats as good as new.
Go to B&aw and get them to do you a match pot off their mixing system.
After the cleaning there is a couple of ways to use it. I touch in any scratches with a small artist brush and let that set. Then you can either thin and spray the finish on with an air brush or I have achieved great results by thinning the paint with Distilled water slightly and then using a lint free soft cloth and rubing it in to the surface. Once you have amazed your self with that apply the sealer. I used some from a leather furniture restoration supply I found in Gateshead.
Try it it works and will be a Finnish as good as the original
Not only did I do the seats. I have used it on the trim and its spot on.
Give these people a try.

Viper you could ask liquid leather if they still do the vehicles in house as they aren't too far away if it was easier to get them to do it and they will know exactly the best way Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
