Anyone use them for breakdown cover ? Good or bad experience ?

Just had a 'fall out' with current provider, and need family cover for wife, daughter and myself.

I just need to get the vehicles home if I'm away (not to nearest garage) Car / Motorbike

I have them for all my cars, including a 5 tonne motorhome.

I've not used them for the latter yet, but on callouts in the past 4 years they've been pretty good and, in my view, better than my previous provider (AA). Si. <This is my name.

In my history of car ownership, i have never joined, or used a breakdown service. i do most of my own maintenance, so gamble on the pretence etc.
however as we eventualy had a family and then a caravan we decided to use one, and went with green flag. my missus went away, with kids and caravan and the old p38 we had, and it broke down. (split water hose) they lifted the car, and hooked on the 'van, and took the car to a local guy to sort out a split hose, and took the van down to where the destination was. later they actually brought the car to the site, after we phone paid the repair bill, and she was able to drive it all home. later in same year, they recovered me with an immobiliser issue, stuck on a triple carrriageway, and two more breakdowns (remote, flat battery) were atttended to again with the missus and caravan. next year we were thinking they would not cover us! but they did and it was hardly any dearer. we then sold the p38 and went with a disco 2 and have (touchwood) never used them since, around 3 years i guess. nothing but praise for them, i dont have anything to compare them against though.

Had alternator failure last Christmas and battery died as a result. They were very helpful and got the L322 to a dealer.

yep - whole hearteldly recommend GF.

Have had cause to use them on two occasions in the last three years (not with the FF) and both times they attended quickly (30 mins or so) and did a roadside fix on a fuel pump on one occasion and recovery to home on the other.

I dumped the RAC when we brought the twin axle tin tent as they said it was too long to recover UNLESS we are in the camping a caravan club then its ok to recover!! Go figure that back hander!.

If you tow a caravan GF offer the recovery to holiday designation then recovery back home after your hols which puts your mind at rest.

SWMBO and me on a policy with the holiday bolt on is £97.00 per year covered in what ever car we are in.

Never been with Green Flag but have had good service from Brittania Rescue.

You will probably find good and bad reports for all providers.
