I've had a new l405 on order for just over a month now which I ordered in Montalcino red, not having seen one in the flesh it has been preying on my mind whether I would actually be happy with the colour. It seems every picture I have seen appears to be a different shade depending on camera ,lighting and even whether it was l405 or disco or defender. On the defender in particular I looks a lot darker. Anyway I called in Guy Salmon this morning and had a look at an l405 in Aruba, it is stunning so even though it is a premium colour I have changed my order. My mind is now hopefully at rest. IMHO only Firenze red has been any good in the LR colour range, I have not liked any other reds, and I am going all the way back to the Classics in the 1980s. They were all too burgundy for my liking, and old fashioned looking. Trocadero, Rioja, Portofino, etc etc (my first RR Classic was Trocadero so I should know).

Just a quick one on the same topic. Aruba which I have changed to has cost me an extra £800 as a premium colour. Does anyone know why this should be and where the extra cost comes from, I know some of it will be pure profit but what do you actually get extra for your money in a tin of paint?
