About 18months into RRS production the design of the wipers was changed because so many owners complained about blades that were scraping across the screen on the return stroke. If you search on the RRS forums there are postings about a non-OEM supplier who sold some very good and quiet blades, it was the compound and cross section of the blade that made the difference. On L322 I remember my 2003 made a swooshing noise as the drivers side blade came up toward the side edge of the screen at the A pillar and my local dealer put it down to the airflow up the pillar. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |

My experience of flat blade wipers are that only OE fitment ones actually work. I've tried countless brands on different cars over the years and none of them were any good except the OE set's on my previous Audi A4 and A6. 2006 Mercedes CLS
