Well it took me months of looking to no avail. I then pestered Mantec to do a run for me, that took months also because they would only do it when they had orders enough for the aluminium purchase and a space at the fabricators. Needless to say they did come true to there word.

A word of warning though... If you want it bad enough you will get it, but you will pay handsomely for it.

The positive are, I did get them and they fit perfectly and they are great quality

You do need a rear armature to fit the exhaust guard correctly though

What you don't get is any protection for the transmission sump or the transfer box.

Hi

Make sure you have under body protection for the gear box sump as its plastic on some models.
it will not like too many bumps and bangs

Regards
Ray

I found a second hand set and used the exhaust one for the transfer box, cut the rear mounting lip off and it fits great... Going to modify the exhaust so not needed on mine...

Deanr_777,

Can you clarify how much you mean by pay handsomely? And do you know if it would fit a 3.6 TDV8?

I actually just stopped by a local trailer fabricator yesterday to enquire about building up some underbody protection for mine in a couple of months. I've had stuff made by him before and it's superb workmanship and dirt cheap prices but would have been from steel in all likelihood.

Regards
Ed

Don't know how much he paid but the person I got mine off paid just under £1000 for the set new.

It's made from 8mm alloy, I've been down some very rough tracks and only bashed it once so they are very good at missing anyway.... not having axle casings hanging down makes a big difference and I've sailed through areas where Defenders have been hung up on their axles..... Pete

Two of us in Brisbane just got sets made by Mantec and shipped to Australia - around 1K. Fits beautifully - one 3.6TD and one 4.4TD; The 3.6 has a winch too.
