How to find your Autobiography build spec?

As the title says, how's do I find what the build spec is on my Autobiography? What do you actully get that is different to the vogue? On mine all I can see is the Autobiography sill plates, rear seat screens with alpine Dvd In the boot, LR special vehicles plate under the bonnet & rear tailgate badge. It has the 20" wheels & sidestep type things, actully not sure what you call them as not sidesteps but wondering if these are Autobiography or options on the vogue anyway. 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography

I've only just joined but i think i can answer this.

I bought an approved used Jaguar about 18 months ago, the dealer logged into the JLR system and just printed off a list of the as built spec. They use it for creating adverts for used cars.

I should imagine if you can do it for a Jaguar then it can be done for a Land-Rover too, so i would go and speak nicely to your local dealer.

From what i can tell an 'Autobiography' is just a custom built car. Much like MG-Rover's Monogram program other car makers do similar schemes, where you go along and pick the colour of the stitching on your seats and stuff. One of the things i read about the Autobiography program is they'll paint the car in any manufacturers colour you like, or flip and metal flake etc. So your car might in fact be the same as a Vogue SE but painted in a non-standard colour or with different colour leather. I should imagine for a price they'll do any kind of bespoke work you like, different veneers etc. So if you have more money than you know what to do with and want a Barbie pink Range Rover, with pink and purple striped goat skin seats, lime green wheels and a luminous yellow roof they'll do it for you.

The AB spec starts life as a Vogue SE and you add your own touches such as choosing stitching etc. Any colour you like even beyond standard LR palettes etc. But it's a VSE to start with.

Any main dealer can print off the build spec. I got mine in about 5 minutes form asking so it doesn't take long.

Presumably you can delete stuff as well as add the bespoke stuff too? If you didn't want the rear video screens on your Autobiography they'll delete them from the build.

Rear screens no longer standard on VSE from 2008 I recall. But yes, you can delete as a concept.

That's good - I haven't had any luck as the supplying dealer didn't complete the required fields so there's no record - anywhere! 2005 L322 Vogue Gold gone

Surely JLR know what it left the factory with from the Vin number? I mean the factory must record what they bolted to that particular body shell regardless of the dealer. The production line staff must have been given some kind of list of what to fit on it, else it would just come out with odd wheels, odd coloured bits of interior etc. Laughing

I did read somewhere that Autobiography models all go to Land Rover special vehicles to have the extras & changes. I do have be LR Special vehicles plate under the bonnet and Was told to call them to get build spec.

I'm going to email lradvice@jaguarlandrover.com first as no plans on visiting dealer at present. 2004 RR 4.4 V8 Autobiography

They do from what i read. Because you can basically order them in any colour you like (even a non-LR colour), it might be that the bare body shell is taken off the line before it goes to the paint shop to be sprayed manually. I suppose it depends how far off the norm it is. If it was in a standard LR colour then i suppose it would progress further along the normal track before being taken off to be hand finished. LR still retain the build details for warranty purposes though.
