Couple of 405 s for sale

I notice a couple of 405 s for sale tomorrow at Brightwells Vehicle auctions , it will be interesting to see what they make as they are starting to get near affordable prices for me ( maybe another 12 months ) .[/i]

nice colour combos both of them but look a bit bruised and battered.

base models, high miles - upper classed sales rep type owners? or ex LR cars?

still nice tho. 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

2002 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Tangiers Orange

Saw one today in France too : TDV6, 60.000 miles, 65.000 euros, so with the weak euro Vs £, that makes for a cheap L405 with warranty (£48,002.87)!

That's a very good price, especially from a Land Rover dealer with warranty, high mileage though but that wouldn't bother me.
Nice colour combo as well. Why don't you go for it?

Well 5.0 was the plan as you know, I just could not find one I liked, well one period! To be honest these are rare here.

So after 6 months looking for one, I gave up and got the -yet excellent- 4.4L TDV8 Vogue. Then, 3 weeks later a 5.0L SC Autobiography with design pack shows up for less than I paid the oil burner !

Gutted - but hey, TDV8 4.4L is excellent, then my G4 4.4L N/A petrol one if good too l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolÎžÎžÎžÎžÎžÎžÎžloO:l

At least you got a V8 which in my opinion is mandatory in a Range Rover.
Drove back my previous one from Nice airport this afternoon (now owned by a client who became a friend). You can't believe how much better the L405 drives in comparison to my previous L322 with the same engine. It's really a shock when you drive the L322 again after being used to the L405.

CSK, don’t you find the gearbox really frustrating in the 322 now you have had the 405 for a time though?

No I think the 6 speed gearbox is fine with the 5.0 Supercharged engine. The 8 speed is better but it's not the gearbox that gets you frustrated it is the handling. Motorway and straights OK but as soon as you come to the twisty bits, you really notice the difference. Was going at the same speed I drive my L405 and I soon had to adapt my driving style to a more sedate one whereas the L405 just goes anywhere you point it without feeling like you're on a cruise ship!
L322 still a lovely car though but I couldn't go back. The L405 is a masterpiece (perhaps not designwise but that's another debate).
