2002 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Epsom Green
Off road damage - oops!

Today was the Scottish Land Rover Owners Club's annual Driving Day, and I got a bit carried away trying to prove that the Range Rover can keep up with the old boys in their battered out Defenders...

After a steep ascent on one section I crested the top and the lower ground clearance afforded by my low hanging side steps meant I grounded... The silver moulding on my O/S step took the impact.

I see that you can purchase these for about £60 - but does anybody have any idea how hard it is to remove the old one and fit a replacement? 2002 Range Rover Td6 Vogue

All the screws on mine are corroded and the Philips head just crumbles and falls away...... Have left mine as is.......

Good luck with yours.

Yeah my screw heads were us as well. Ended up breaking bits away with plies and then undoing the screws with mole grips. All in all still only took about 10 min.

Mine were half missing so new ones make so much difference.

I was told (dunno how true) but the britpart ones are same price as gen? Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

Just did a quick search for VUB001300 the Britpart ones are about £5 cheaper. Chances are they're the same manufacturer.

The complete step kit (both sides with mudflaps) is only £200.

I bought a set for £130 off ebay, one of mine is completely rotten and i didn't fancy paying £800 for Land Rover ones! Worth considering if your step is badly rusted before you spend £60 on a plastic trim for one.

If you go over the top faster the front wheels will be in the air and your sidesteps will be fine........
