Only paid for 6 months road tax

Always pay for 12 months too.

Persuasive arguments to keep the SC most welcome (13 months LR warranty remaining) and will be forwarded to the real decision maker who disafffectionately describes her steed as a Dalek and yet one she wouldn't care to replace for a newer L322 because "there's no point, they don't look any different!"

ps.. wonder if she prefers the courtesy car that she seems to have spent more time driving Laughing

That was the war cry from my other half when i went to trade from an 05 mdl to a 2010 but when she sat in the 2010 she was really impressed with how modern the inside looked compared to the 05 and thought it would be best if i bought it regardless of her thinking that the outside looked the same Rolling Eyes .... Thumbs Up

In saying that tho she had the XF and preferred it to the FF ... to a point i had to agree with her the XF was a really nice car to drive ...

But you know women cars are something that they don't really care about or want to know ... as long as it works thats all they are concerned about ...

But have since sold it and currently using a GL420 Merc ... Does what i need it for Thumbs Up ====================================

"Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy

My Mrs didn't have a say on the FF at all, she hates them andtels me on frequent baces and prefers the land cruiser, but my Mrs is strange anyhow as her baby is a 110 v8 , drafty, cold, noisy , slow, has a drinking problem Whistle

If your up grading what benefits are to the old one...If 5ltr sc then Thumbs Up you only live once.
Sorry can't comment on the xf as not driven one, but they can't go off road as well Laughing If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

The 2010 plus cars are significantly nicer to be in and especially the VSE and AB due to seat heating/cooling etc. I like my 5.0 a lot better than the 4.2 for sure. Not that the pre 2010 are shabby cars, no way they are still a lot better than most cars in the world. The 2010 plus are just quite a bit nicer than the previous years Smile.

My position is, if you can afford it, go for it. You only live once Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Checked. She doesn't like the XF. X5 boring. Quite likes Q7. Does like driving the current RR "but it's never out of that garage!". Likes new shape ones but thinks the cost of them ridiculous. Would probably have an Evoque if single... Can see where this one is going Laughing

Thumbs Up

We visited a garage this afternoon and side by side was the entire gleaming range. The Sport is 'nice but seems more X5, the Discovery Sport looks like those little ones they give you as courtesy cars [Freelander] and you'd probably feel like you're missing out if you didn't get the proper one, is it a Vogue?'. It was an AB, including lethal looking door automated side steps.

Thumbs Up

76% (10 of 13 voters) saying keep it seems surprisingly high. Wonder how more 'neutral' non RR enthusiasts would vote?

You do seem to have suffered a plethora of woes wth this car Ryan, but there is the argument of the better the devil you know, but have you resolved all the leaks?

If so then I would keep it for a while, and enjoy it. I occasionally have the should I shouldnt I argument, and although I think the 2010-> cars are a slightly nicer place to sit I couldn't justify the extra spend. So I spent some money on mine and it feels a bit taughter at the front end now, and it still makes me smile.

I usually drive a couple of different cars a day but the ffrr is still my favourite! Drove Swmbos Skoda on Tuesday (had to go to the garage to get it some oil) and it felt tiny!

We always complain about the reliability of our cars, but to put it in perspective my mates 61 plate Q5 has been in the Audi garage for a week now with a problem. And they have yet to determine what the problem is. They think it sounds DSG gearbox related but that doesn't seem right to us as its struggling under load. Hey ho could be £500, could be £5000...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Got car back today after 4 weeks with dealer. Apology offered for time taken to repair it. They say they've fitted the new oil filter housing assembly and that it is not now leaking. Heard it before and will monitor it over the coming week or so, hoping they are right.

Looks good, running well and enjoyable to drive.

Jury still out Thumbs Up

Yeah, put the same poll up on a Toyota forum and see what the response is... Rolling with laughter

I think you should sell it, but it matters little whether you add 6 or 12 months as you'll get a refund on the balance regardless of what you choose to do.

The problems you've had, I'm amazed you've stuck with it for so long. Admittedly, these are all dealer warranty fixes but you've said many times that the car has rarely been in your possession for long.

However, as you and many others allude to, what could possibly replace it other than another FF? I agree an L405 is still a huge financial jump, so a well specified 5.0 would be a reasonable and rather acceptable choice. That's what I would do. Si. <This is my name.
