Engine oil

Hello all.

Time has come once again for another oil change. Iv been looking on the good old web and came across this

http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/p/acce...p;cc5_248#

Never used this oil before and seems very cheap. Meets ACEA specifications of B3 as mentioned in owners handbook.

Was wondering if anyone has used this before or anyother oil to reccommend.

Thanks Range rover td6 54 reg touch screen

depends on how long you leave your oil in between changes , if you say for example do It every 5k miles or yearly I cant see the need to use the most expensive oil known to mankind, yes this oil is a good price but it meets standard and is fully synth.

unfortunately every one has different opinions on oil and tyres so listen to all and form your own opinions

My view point has always been that the difference between expensive oils and cheaper oils is their " life" how quickly they start to break down , the cheaper ones will obviously start to degrade much quicker , but if you are changing frequent you are not getting the extra advantage the expensive oils offer.

if it meets spec its fine , just don't risk a 20,k service interval

I've used it, I got mine from eurocar parts I think, not as cheap, but as above, I dont mind changing it around the 5k miles mark.. and, its the favoured 5l pot, so for me its a no brainer, £25 oil, and a filter, -i got one free (ie BOGOF) with my last eurocar parts visit.
could be all done for equivilent of around £30 . 1/2 hour work, including a cup of tea waiting for the last to run out...

SORTED! Thumbs Up

FYI they do that oil in many different guises C1, C2, & C3 which covers a multitude of vehicles... If purchasing, remember to order the correct grade for your model!!! ITS IMPORTANT!!!

i.e. a 4.4TDV8 needs C? as it has DPF whereas a 3.6TDV8 needs C? etc etc etc. You all understand I'm sure! Check your service books Thumbs Up

Cam-tech-craig.

Iv already looked for that in the hand book and im sure its not required for the td6 as it doesnt have the dpf.

Thanks for the heads up any ways, as im sure it will be handy for others who do have the dpf.
Iv read it can be very expensive to replace the dpf if it goes! Range rover td6 54 reg touch screen
