TDV8 Spares or repair

Can you imagine putting £2.500 into new TDV8 turbos and then realising that the engine is goosed anyway. Very scary. Shocked

and can the TDV8 be stripped, replace the offending parts and out back together or is a replacement lump required?

You cannot buy any engine internals for them from JLR parts Stan... New engine £10k+ second hand from £5k+ Whistle Rolling Eyes Shocked

That's simply barking!!

The only real option is to break it up for bits then. That seems a shame but is probably the more profitable option.

You have to feel for the sellers situation....what a nightmare. 2006 4.2 SC

You have to imagine the garage have been through every option already so you know the engine is scrap!!! Absolute best scenario would be the cylinder that hydrolocked had the end of the hot injector immersed in oil and thats whats ticking/damaged BUT!!! I would imagine the garage would have checked & disregarded that as an option! Rolling Eyes

They will do it at any miles! Have had them as low as 50k and EGR issues ignored!
