L322 radio problem

First real gremlin has appeared on my 2008 4.2sc with the radio. A couple of weeks ago no sound until the engine was off for a while. Now radio reception is awful when the engine is running. Turn off engine and reception excellent. Any ideas? Current:
1999 SL500
2006 Mini One Chrome wrapped
2008 FFRR 4.2sc
