I think you will find that this heap will only be for domestic consumption in China - most of their homemade (ie cars completely designed and built in PRC rather than cast off European and US cars like VW Passat and Citroen A series) cannot even come near to our safety standards. I travel to China a lot with work and the domestic market for cheap quality/ low price cars in China cannot be satisfied so chaces of them exporting are small. Recently NCAP tested the Chinese version of the Vauxhall/Opel Frontera (which in turn was a cast off Izuzu!) and it is the only car ever to go backwards in the scores after updating by the new maker Fairwind! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes |
