Why anyone would want something the size of a Rangie to go any quicker is a mystery. Its at least 50mph faster than it needs to go which is bonkers Confused Surely if it was for track days then the FFRR would be way down the list of contenders. Maybe if they tamed the top end it would have even more sensible MPG and CO2 emissions Idea

Few people know how to drive a 4x4 correctly, never mind a fast 4x4, manufacturers are trying to idiot proof them with bells and whistles. The thought of one doing 130mph while I and my family are cruising the motorways frankly leaves me cold the more I think about it.. If I'm sat at 70 and they hit me its as though I was stationary and they hit me at 60mph... with a FFRR = wipeout. Evil or Very Mad If they come over the central reservation then its equivalent to a 200mph collision in to a wall. Censored

I know other countries have faster upper limits but its still nuts. Rolling Eyes 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Given how comfortable they are when sat on the limiter, I wonder why they bother with it.

Tyres have the correct speed ratings and the Supercharged is deemed safe to go faster, so what's the point?

elpeede, can I suggest that if you want to do 70mph you stick to the slow lane Very Happy

Sorry only 115 Whistle :

I actually tried sticking to the limit with CC on the other day, how tedious is that being continuously overtaken by everything except lorries. I would actually say dangerous too, having to overtake lorries whilst doing 70 means pulling out into the middle lane whilst people are doing 80/90 in that.

I would suggest that 120 in a RR is perfectly safe, especially if you have the brembo brakes. At 130 I wouldn't want to perform an emergency maneuver, but then why would you? You're not going to do 130 on a crowded motorway are you?
