Hi all,
I'm looking at buying a FF but don't really know which one to buy. I have a budget of £8k and would prefer a petrol as it's mainly for local driving.

Now do I go for the 4.2 or 4.4?
Is there much difference in performance between the two?
Anything to look out for or to be concerned about?
How easy is it to upgrade rear light, front grill, side vents?

All help will be greatly appreciated?

4.2 in my opinion, you get all the toys standard, lights and grills won't need changing, unless you go the hole hog for a 2010 conversion SC 4.2, 2012 face lifted, 25K miles, 1 previous owner

I'd imagine there is quite a bit of difference in performance, as one has a supercharger.

I doubt you will get a 4.2 for 8k?

I've had a 4.4 and the performance is more than enough. When I was looking I did drive a 4.2 for a short run and I did'nt really notice much of a difference apart from the sound. Whether that is the exhaust or the supercharger I don't know. My other car has the 4.2 supercharged engine and it is a fantastic power unit, but I have to say the BMW engine was quite a performer too. I now have the 3.6 diesel and its more than enough in terms of what I want out of it. I do far to many miles to go back to petrol.

I think cost will make your decision when you find the right model.

you will be lucky to get a 4.2sc for anywhere near 8k unless it's a shed.
I test drove both and to be honest wasn't that impressed with the difference in performance.
