Inbuilt speed restriction on use of powerfold door mirrors.

Hello all,

First post to this site and it has to be a technical question:-

I've just exchanged my 2003 model TD6 for a 3.6 TDV8 SE 10MY, which I'll be collecting in just under a fortnight.

I am assuming that the same speed restriction exists with the powerfold door mirrors on the new car, ie that above a certain speed, it is not possible to close the mirrors in.
Does anyone have a fix for this? as much of my home area has narrow lanes and it would be a welcome function to be either able to raise the speed threshold, or to ensure operation at all speeds.

Also, is there a source out yet (cd or dvd perhaps) for 'intimate' details of the electrickery and computer controls of the new car please?

Many thanks

i would wait until you get it and try..afaik the only way to adjust things on the FFRR is to purchase a 'faultmate msv2' which at £1k is a lot of money and then you might not be able to do what you particularly want to do... ... - .- -.

There is no restriction on the speed on our (2006).

we use them in exactly the way you want to, they are too expensive to risk catching on an oncoming vehicle in a narrow stretch of road.

Far better than our audi, which will not allow the mirrors to fold/unfold at anything above walking pace.

No speed restriction on my 2006 model either. They worked just fine at 70 on the motorway earlier... 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior
