Stormer reps won't sit on hub correctly/studs dont line up

just mounted a set of tires on a set of stormer reps and when i try to put the wheel on the hub it doesn't seem like it wants to seat all the way. there is a gap on the back face by the hub. If I push the top of the tire and get the the upper back face to seat against the hub the bottom kicks out. The studs also do not seem to line up in the center of the hole and the lug nuts wont grip the threads to screw on. On the stock wheel the lug nuts stick out. On these stormer reps they lug nuts actually go inside a bit. Any ideas? There are a lot of people running these reps so not sure whats going on with mine.

I tried a wire brush on the hub....didn't make a difference.

If they're that tight I'd put some copper-slip on the central spigot to make sure you can get them off to change a wheel by the side of the road Thumbs Up

I know plenty do it and most get away with it but lubricating the mating surfaces of your wheel and hub removes the friction holding the wheel in place . The wheel nuts pull the wheel in to create this friction and should not be relied on to take the weight of the vehicle as they can fail under the shearing force .
It sound like this gentleman's wheels are not of the best fit to start with which would only exacerbate the situation . 2008 MY Supercharged

The wheel nuts clamp the wheel to the hub. The centre spigot is only to hold the wheel central, to prevent any unwanted wobbling caused by an uncentered wheel Thumbs Up

I would personally not feel safe and happy with that situation.

The centre spigot is there to take the weight NOT the wheel nuts!!! They are to hold the wheel on... Hence you have Spigot rings to make sure wheels fit on hubs!

I thought that was a given, Craig. Evidently not.

Regardless, a wheel is not a friction fit on the spigot

Just making it crystal clear for members, the importance of centre bore/spigot fitment rather than PCD etc sir... Thumbs Up

well even the stockers have to be muscled on and wiggled about to fit against the hub perfectly. These just needed even pressure (a little more than stock) to push it against the hub and get the nuts on which was a little tricky with 1 set of hands. I will say even the stock wheel is a bit of a pain to line up right to get the nuts on...not only do you have to fit the studs on the holes but there is wiggle room where you need to rotate the wheel while on the studs to get the nuts to go on the bolts correctly. Never had a car that was so temperamental with putting wheel/lug nuts on
