United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Santorini Black
My 2005 V8 Range Rover

Recently collected my Black L322 on the weekend with approval from my other half - who goes over cars with a fine tooth comb! It is a 2005 Black M62 V8, 3 previous owners with only 79k on the clock. It has taken us a while to find the right one, with a narrow search margin, needing to be M62 with touchscreen satnav as I intend to LPG in the near future. We looked at two over the weekend, this one being the better car by far and in all honesty I think the seller undersold it in the advert and their description.

Now a two V8 car family, with my other half driving a Mercedes C55 AMG, plus we have a cheap diesel for our runaround!

Here she is

Side steps apart, that's really nice!

Those 20" Vogue alloys always looked great and really enhance the L322's looks.

You've some potential, if you feel the need, to make some subtle interior improvements which start with replacing the foundry door handle surrounds with matching walnut ones. It really lifts the interior!

I thoroughly approve of your wife's C55. Thumbs Up Mine drives an E55. Si. <This is my name.

Thanks all for the comments! As for the tubes I think they look ok although I think I would prefer side steps. Really impressed with the car, it genuinely is really clean.

First job is to have the gearbox oil serviced; although it changes absolutely silky smooth I will be getting it done for peace of mind. After that I intend to convert to LPG. Other things include new key fob for existing key as the buttons are worn, order a new second key from LR as that was the only thing it didn't have, replace exterior door handles with body coloured ones. replace all interior lights for LEDs plus update the rear light units to the clear/red, not keen on 'orange.' Looking for a complete high sided boot liner to protect the entire boot for the occasions where our Bernese Mountain Dog will go in it, as well as the cargo net if i can source one in the correct colour. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography

A few small improvements within the first week of ownership, little things niggle me and need to be corrected!

First up, new key fob for existing key, quick win for £5.99!

The drivers side window switch surround was peeling away and that just would not do, £30 odd for a new one

And tomorrow it is going to a local LR specialist, Qt Services, who build and compete Wildcat off roaders for a gearbox oil change for a spot of preventative maintenance.

Should have upgraded the window packs to walnut or the walnut effect covers... easier to fit and the kit includes surrounds for the door pulls Thumbs Up and you missed out upgrading the key for a 2010 style flip key...

I'll be honest I don't like too much wood and just isn't my cup of tea. I actually quite like the black against my light interior. As for the key that's something I think I will definitely do but for an instant revamp it was worth it for the mean time. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography
