Similar thing happened to me years ago, picked up a stray plastic bag that got wrapped around the exhaust, smoked like a pig for a while.... gets you really worried.... then it melted away and all was fine...

So a bit of an update on this one, after a little investigating I think it is the a/c compressor clutch which has gone, it won't engage what ever I do. So guess it has failed inside and the smoke came from it shorting. Does anyone have experience of changing one of these? And does anyone know what voltage the control lead should be providing to the a/c clutch? Mine seems to be 9v? |
