Replaced thermostat, but......

Recently replaced my 2002 V8's thermostat. But,.... as you can see in the pictures underneath the original connector has been replaced in the car's history by two simple connectors. Thing is I have no Idea how to connect the "connector" back to the thermostat.

So, when looking at the thermostat attached to the engine from the front of the car, would the red or brown wire be left or right?

Thanks!

to be honest the 'sensor' is just a simple thermistor, current can flow either way, so it shouldn't really matter which way they go back on.

The proper connectors are cheap enough, it's just a standard timer housing connector, Maplin, RS, vehicle wiring products all do them for a couple of quid.

Doesn't make any difference....

It's just an electrical heating element..... Pete

Zirconblue, sorry you type faster than me.... doesn't make any difference but that one is the electrically controlled stat, it's a heating element to open the stat more when the ECU "thinks" the engine may need it.... Pete

Ahh ok, i see. I just assumed it was a temperature sensor. But as you say same net result when it comes to connecting it up. Smile
