First post so be gentle...

Unfortunately, a rather inconveniently placed branch destroyed a large portion of my near side wingmirror housing yesterday. My local garage assures me it's a complete replacement job (which sounds fairly pricey for what it is) so thought I'd ask here.

All electrics are working, the mirror glass is intact, although the plastic that holds the mirror seems to have broken around the one of the screws. As above the major issue is that the side of the wingmirror is missing.

I've attached photos showing the damage - so any thoughts welcome.

A body coloured casing like those powerfuluk sell might do the trick...

Much cheaper than a replacement unit and easier to source than a 2nd hand casing

I think they clip over the existing mirror body - not so good in this instance.... may not be much left to clip to. Ash
