Overfinch L322 - what's this then?

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...hp/3713058

I thought new OF were bodykits and wheels but this suggests engine work too. The model number certainly apes the old 570/630 ones that OFII did when they put chevy stuff in classics and P38s.

I quite like it but I'd want a "proper" OF car not a tarts boudoir! Depends which it is.

The 580S had engine work & was quite tasty - but it was 10 years ago......

I think they still do re-maps, but nothing that you can't get elsewhere.

Thanks. Not sure how it ended up here. Could it be moved to the general forum please.

Now I'm liking that. Question is for an 03 car is it expensive or should I really compare it to a 4.2s/c in which case its cheap.

The 4.2 Mick... The OF 500 has proved quite delicate with age Shocked

Think the crankshaft alone for that engine if north of £5K!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

At least if the SC develops a fault, you could take it to any MD to have it fixed! The OF would be a nightmare if the engine went wrong!!! Whistle

Just a BMW S62 crank, nothing special.

Ahem... NO sir it certainly was NOT... Overfinch took an Ascari (S62) Crank and further enhanced it so NO NOT a standard S62 crank at all!

Good as I was quite tempted! I like things a bit different and I can't afford a softdash LSE 570.
Clarkson mentioned a trick crank in the video so it must be true!

You could buy a custom billet crank for less than £5k. Not sure what you could actually do to it to make it that price, apart from mount jewels on it.

Edit - I will qualify it by saying you're obviously risking things not being easily sortable with something like that.

It seems the last of a breed - reworked engines by OF. And it does look smart.
What has been a bit fragile Craig?
