" Key in Ignition" Warning

Done a quick search, and nothing really comes up to suit !!

2009 MY 3.6 TDV8

After over 4 years, and not one problem,, now have a small one

Car starts, runs fine but

Removing the key, the "Key in Ignition" warning will not go out on dash, plus the warning buzzer , thinking the key is still in, so radio etc stays on, and car can not be locked etc

Tried both keys, electrical spray into barrel, all no joy,, am presuming the barrel has some tumblers inside to detect the key present ?? California F1, RR TDV8 Vog SE 90 V8 Hybrid

it does sound like the solenoid in the key assembly isnt clicking off...could be low battery in the key fobs but you say both keys have been used so it might be the ignition switch.. ... - .- -.

the key fob battery's are rechargeable and i've just read in the owners manual that if the battery is low then you'll get a message on the dash telling you that, as you're not getting that then i suspect the switch..

Very Happy Ditto, We both must have been reading the front pages at the same time !!

Feels like a switch of sorts in the barrel ?? feels slacker that it usually has done in the past ? California F1, RR TDV8 Vog SE 90 V8 Hybrid

Has anyone changed the ignition barrel themselves ?

That seam to be the problem,, feel like a microswitch inside ??

Had the dash panels partly apart around the switch,, and now working somewhat California F1, RR TDV8 Vog SE 90 V8 Hybrid
