Worth upgrading?

Chaps. I have a 2005 FFRR 4.2SC and am contemplating upgrading it to a 2007/8 post-facelift car. Question is, Is it worth bothering for the extra cash?

I'm guessing Vogue SE. I've not seen any TDV8 ones for around £34k. They seem to be closer to 40k.

Unless you have issues with your vehicle, I can't see why bother changing a 2005 to a 2007/8 S/C - all you are updating is the dash and digital TV.

You would be better off going for a later 10MY with the new snout and 5.0 S/C engine. Unless you have problems with your existing motor and need to upgrade I would keep it as you know her and her history - I would only upgrade if it was for a 10MY vehicle.

Thanks for all the replies.

Vogue; I think this is the crux of the issue. Realistically what extra am I getting? My car is low (ish) mileage. cosmetically in good condition, and I have a reasonably clear picture of its provenance before my tenure. I would love the 10MY car but that is a £40k decision, and buying into the meat of a pretty steep depreciation curve, as against an (almost) horizontal one for my car. Oh, and I never watch the TV.

But is a chipped TDV8 faster than a chipped SC?

PS it's more about the noise than outright performance.
