Another engine oil leak

Whilst monitoring the longevity of the recent engine out ladder frame oil leak, yesterday, I looked under the car to find oil leaking out of the same area of the engine bay under tray. Removed under tray and found this:

Took the car into dealer today and they put it up on the ramp, showing me an area leaking engine oil from the gasket seal adjacent to the oil filter. They say it's down to them as they had 'everything off' when the engine was recently out for the ladder frame leak. Advised it's an easy fix, new seal ordered and safe to drive until next week when the car was already booked in with them for a service.

It was never in doubt Sandy. Their Techs are straight up guys. It's just that 'not again' feeling and the inconvenience that goes with it. Not to mention the 'What now? Here we go again!' stares boring holes when walking into Service Reception.

The main purpose of the post aside to therapy is to highlight the type of components that can be found leaking and the symptoms.

Thumbs Up

I've just been on to Harwoods LR parts Dept down south and have ordered:
Oil Filter Gasket Seal - Part Number LVF500010 = £3.87 delivered

Why?

05.02.15 Took car into MD with a new oil leak developed since they had the engine out to fix a ladder frame oil leak. Said they'd order a seal in. Booked it in for a service and for them to replace the gasket seal yday.

12.02.15 Collected car from MD yday to be told the gasket seal is on back order and so they removed the existing leaking gasket seal, cleaned it and replaced it along with some sealant.

13.02.15 - Found fresh engine oil deposits on our garage floor underneath where the oil filter gasket seal had been stationary overnight. Rang Duckworths who confirmed back order and checked computer to find Harwoods as only LR Parts Dept in country with one. So I've bought that lonely little seal to give it a good home!
