Deployable side steps not retracting properly

Afternoon all,

Having an issue with my driver's side deployable side step - and can't figure out a solution!

It deploys normally when unlocking the car or when opening the door, however when retracting it doesn't always go all the way back in. Sometimes yes, but other times stays half way down. Most frustrating as the passenger side is perfect.

I've cleaned out underneath and no obvious obstruction, plus greased all joints. Any ideas??

Cheers,
